Dr. Mohammad Ashikur Rahman Khan holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia, where he completed his research from 2009 to 2012. He earned his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) between 2000 and 2004. His academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Bangladesh, where he studied from 1993 to 1998.

With over 23 years of experience in academia and engineering, Dr. Khan has contributed significantly to research and education. He is currently serving as a Professor (Grade 2) and Chairman of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh, a position he has held since October 2021. Before this, he was a Professor at NSTU from 2017 to 2021 and previously worked as an Associate Professor from 2013 to 2017. His journey at NSTU began as an Assistant Professor in 2008, following his tenure as a Lecturer from 2006 to 2008. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Assistant Engineer at the Inspection and Testing Directorate of the Rural Electrification Board (REB) in Dhaka from 2001 to 2006. During his Ph.D. studies, he also served as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Universiti Malaysia Pahang from 2009 to 2012.

He was awarded a Bronze Medal at the Creation, Innovation, Technology & Research Exposition 2012 at Universiti Malaysia Pahang for his work on hybrid intelligent modeling in pattern recognition. He also received the Best Poster Presentation Award at the National Conference in Mechanical Engineering for Research & Postgraduate Studies (NCMER 2010) for his optimization modeling of copper electrodes in electrical discharge machining (EDM). He was a recipient of the Doctoral Fellowship at Universiti Malaysia Pahang from 2009 to 2011. His academic excellence was recognized with multiple Merit Awards and Technical Scholarships during his B.Sc. studies at RUET for three consecutive years. Additionally, he was honored with the Brilliance Award by the Welfare Association of Tahsilder, Bangladesh, in 1998.
