In 2020, he became an Associate Professor at the same department. He has also held several leadership roles, including being the Principal Investigator for various international and national research projects, such as “WASA” (Water Saving in Agriculture) from 2016 to 2019 and “HANDYWATER” from 2021 to 2024. His research seeks to improve water management techniques and promote sustainable agricultural practices, especially in regions facing water scarcity.

Abousrie was awarded the Kishida Award for Scientific Superiority from the MISR Society of Agricultural Engineering in 2004.
